Description

Crystalline solid. Decomposes at 120°C. Contact may cause slight irritation to skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. May be slightly toxic by ingestion. Used to make other chemicals. Magnesium Hexafluorosilicate is used for mothproofing of textile fabrics. It has being used in the treatment of experimental caries of rats.

In Vivo Use Guide
Sheep (for the treatment of sheep lice (Bovicola ovis)): Magnesium hexafluorosilicate was applied through a shower dip (Sunbeam model SSD), which was set up according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Dipping was conducted over 2 days. Individual sheep were treated between 16 and 18 days after shearing. Each product was mixed with water according to the manufacturer’s directions for the control of lice.
