Description

Calcium lactobionate is calcium salt of a lactobionic acid. Lactobionic acid is a disaccharide formed from gluconic acid and galactose. Calcium lactobionate is a food additive used as a stabilizer due to high water binding capacity. It is also marketed worldwide as a supplement of calcium for the treatment of calcium deficiency, rickets, osteomalacia, heavy metal poisoning.
