Sodium cation Na-22 (Sodium-22) is commonly used as a tracer for sodium transport assays, sodium influx and efflux assays, and Na+ permeability studies. Previously it was used for evaluation of sodium metabolism in some endocrine diseases and in patients with hypertension.
