Glyceryl 2-undecylenate is a monoacylglycerol of undecylenic acid, which is widely used as emollient and emulsifier in skin care products, moisturizer, liquid soap, sunscreen lotion, body washes and anti-ageing creams. This compound is basically a derivative of castor oil and an ester of glycerin and undecylenic acid, which combines the moisturisation from glycerine along with the antimicrobial properties of undecylenic acid. It performs an important function to enhance the working ability of cosmetic products as a cosmetic ingredient due to its high penetration ability.
