Allylestrenol (INN) (brand names Gestanon, Gestanin, Orageston, Turinal, Gestin, others), or allyloestrenol (BAN), also known as 17α-allylestr-4-en-17β-ol or as 3-deketo-17α-allyl-19-nortestosterone, is a synthetic steroid with progestational activity, that is used to prevent threatened miscarriage, recurrent pregnancy loss, and premature labor. Allylestrenol has also been studied as a treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia in men, with encouraging results. Although it is less potent as a progestogen relative to many other 19-nortestosterone derivatives, allylestrenol is said to be virtually devoid of androgenic, estrogenic, or glucocorticoid activity, and hence, unlike virtually all other 19-nortestosterone derivatives, appears to be a pure progestogen with similar effects to those of progesterone. Allylestrenol is widely marketed throughout Europe, including Russia and many other European countries, and is also available in Japan, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and much of Southeast Asia, though notably not in the United States or Canada.

Famphur is an insecticide and antihelmenthic. Famphur is approved in cattle as a pour-on (NADA 34-697; 21 CFR 524.900) and as medicated feed (NADA 34-266; 21 CFR 558.254). It is a component of the FDA-approved TRAMISOL X-TRA Combination Paste, used for the treatment of cattle infected with the following parasites: Stomach worms (Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Ostertagia), intestinal worms (Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Bunostomum, Oesophagostomum), lungworms (Dictyocaulus), cattle grubs (Hypoderma), biting lice (Bovicola), and sucking lice (Linognathus, Solenoptes). Famphur is a cholinesterase-inhibiting drug.

Aldosterone is a hormone secreted by the adrenal cortex that regulates electrolyte and water balance by increasing the renal retention of sodium and the excretion of potassium. Recent findings have shown that the physiological functions of the hormone aldosterone go far beyond its well-known role in blood-pressure regulation and salt/water homeostasis. Aldosterone is for example involved in the regulation of inflammation, and also binds directly to mineralocorticoid receptors in specific brain regions. At the late distal tubule and collecting duct, aldosterone has two main actions: 1) aldosterone acts on mineralocorticoid receptors (MR) on principal cells in the distal tubule of the kidney nephron, increasing the permeability of their apical (luminal) membrane to potassium and sodium and activates their basolateral Na+/K+ pumps, stimulating ATP hydrolysis leading to phosphorylation of the pump and a conformational change in the pump exposes the Na+ ions to the outside. The phosphorylated form of the pump has a low affinity for Na+ ions, hence reabsorbing sodium (Na+) ions and water into the blood, and secreting potassium (K+) ions into the urine; 2) aldosterone stimulates H+ secretion by intercalated cells in the collecting duct, regulating plasma bicarbonate (HCO3−) levels and its acid/base balance; and 3) aldosterone may act on the central nervous system via the posterior pituitary gland to release vasopressin (ADH) which serves to conserve water by direct actions on renal tubular resorption.

Meclofenoxate (INN, BAN) (brand name Lucidril), also known as centrophenoxine, is a cholinergic nootropic used as a dietary supplement and drug in the treatment of symptoms of senile dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Meclofenoxate has been shown in studies to be effective in enhancing the memory and in improving the cognitive functions of the elderly. Bromazepam (marketed under several brand names, including Lectopam, Lexotan, Lexilium, Lexaurin, Brazepam, Rekotnil, and Lexotanil)[1] is a benzodiazepine derivative drug, patented by Roche in 1963 and developed clinically in the 1970s. It is mainly an anti-anxiety agent with similar side effects to diazepam (Valium). In addition to being used to treat anxiety or panic states, bromazepam may be used as a premedicant prior to minor surgery. Bromazepam typically comes in doses of 3 mg and 6 mg tablets.[5] Bromazepam is contraindicated and should be used with caution in women who are pregnant, the elderly, patients with a history of alcohol or other substance abuse disorders and children. Prolonged use of bromazepam causes tolerance and may lead to both physical and psychological dependence on the drug, and as a result, it is a medication which is controlled by international law. Bromazepam binds to the GABA receptor GABAA, causing a conformational change and increasing the inhibitory effects of GABA. Bromazepam is a long-acting benzodiazepine and is lipophilic and metabolized hepatically via oxidative pathways.
