Nomegestrol acetate (NOMAC) is a 19-norprogesterone derivative with high biological activity at the progesterone receptor, a weak anti-androgenic effect, but with no binding to estrogen, glucocorticoid or mineralocorticoid receptors. Nomegestrol has been developed by the Monaco-based company Théramex SAM (a Teva subsidiary). Nomegestrol acetate has been used successfully for the treatment of some gynaecological disorders (menstrual disturbances, dysmenorrhoea, premenstrual syndrome) and as a component of hormone replacement therapy in combination with estradiol for the relief of menopausal symptoms; it has been approved in Europe as monotherapy for the treatment of the menopausal syndrome, uterine diseases and menorrhagia, and in combination with an estrogen for the treatment of menopausal symptoms. Nomegestrol acetate in combination with estradiol is used as an oral contraceptive.

Aceclidine is a parasympathomimetic agent used in the treatment of open-angle glaucoma as topical eye drop solution. It is as a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor agonist with weak anticholinesterase activity. Acting directly on the motor end-plate (cholinergic nerve endings) it decreases intraocular pressure and mediates the contraction of iris muscle. Aceclidine increased outflow facility in human eyes in vitro by a direct stimulation of the outflow tissues in the absence of an intact ciliary muscle. This effect was biphasic, occurring at concentrations of 10 uM and lower with no effect at higher concentrations. Passed numerous clinical trials in Russia, France, Italy and other countries and was widely used in Europe but never been in clinical use in USA.

Bisoxatin (Laxonalin, Wylaxine) acetate is a stimulant laxative that has been used in the treatment of constipation. The drug showed good effects to habitual constipation and dolichocolon but was not sufficient acting in megacolon. It seems that the drug is effective to constipation due to functional disorders but the effect is not sufficient to constipation caused chiefly by organic colonic changes. No side effect was observed even in long term administration.

Elliptinium is an antineoplastic agent, which was used in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer in France under the name Celiptium. The drug is known to intercalate into DNA and inhibit topoisomerase II. Several studies have demonstrated that this molecule can be oxidized, yielding a reactive electrophilic form, which is able to bind covalently to a nucleophilic biological molecule.

FLUROGESTONE (9α-FLUORO-11β,17α-DIHYDROXYPROGESTERONE) is a steroidal progestin of the 17α-hydroxyprogesterone group that was never marketed. An acetate ester, flurogestone acetate, is used in veterinary medicine. It has progestational action
higher than that of progesterone itself. It is intended for intravaginal use in sheep and goats to
induce oestrus synchronisation. The proposed dosage is 1 sponge, impregnated with 30, 40 (for
sheep) or 45 mg (for goats) flugestone acetate, which is to be removed after 12 to 14 days from
ewes and after 17 to 21 days from goats. Flugestone acetate is not indicated for use in humans.

Dequalinium is a quaternary ammonium cation commonly available as the dichloride salt. Dequalinium chloride has an antiseptic effect against a wide range of bacteria, yeasts, and some fungi and viruses. It kills the micro-organisms associated with various mild infections of the mouth and throat. Also, Dequalinium chloride is active against the bacteria which cause bacterial vaginosis. Dequalinium Chloride (DECA) is a PKC inhibitor and high-affinity blocker CNGA1 channel, and nearly as effective on heteromeric CNGA1+CNGB1 channels. Common side effects are: vaginal discharge; vaginal itching or vaginal burning; vaginal yeast infection (thrush); tender tongue.

Flumedroxone is a progestative agent. It is a pregnane derivative substituted at C-6 by a trifluoromethyl group. It was tested whether flumedroxone had prophylactic value in migraine. No benefit was found in males, or in females with no history of menstrual exacerbation of migraine. In women whose migraine was worse around the time of menstruation flumedroxone resulted in statistically fewer headaches of less severity. With the dose used in this trial side-effects were frequent, the commonest being polymenorrhagia, which occurred in half the women of reproductive age.
